Fishos on Patrol
AFMA fisheries officers conduct regular patrols and inspections on fishing vessels and fish receivers to ensure compliance with Commonwealth fisheries management arrangements.
On 10-13 April 2012, AFMA officers conducted inspections in the fishing ports of Eden, New South Wales and Lakes Entrance, Victoria. Inspections were carried out on one Eastern Tuna and Billfish Fishery vessel and four Southern and Eastern Scalefish and Shark Fishery vessels. They also conducted two inspections on Commonwealth Fish Receiver premises. In all instances compliance levels were found to be excellent with no breaches detected.
