Strategic assessmentAccredited assessment reportsThe Minister for the Environment and Water Resources considers the reports and assesses the ability of the management arrangements to manage the fishery in an ecologically sustainable manner. If satisfied with the management arrangements the Minister may accredit the fishery as exempt for matters of national environmental significance, interactions with a protected species and export of native species for a period of five years. Alternatively the Minister may declare the fishery a wildlife trade operation (WTO), which provides an exemption for matters of national environmental significance, interactions with protected species and export of native species for three years, at which time the fishery must be reassessed.
The Minister for the Environment and Water Resources has assessed the management arrangements and the AFMA Board has accepted the conditions and recommendations. Strategic Assessment – Accredited Assessment Reports Page last updated 15 February, 2008 |
