Christmas and Cocos (Keeling) Islands Fisheries

The Christmas Island and Cocos (Keeling) Islands fisheries are an Australian territory located south-west of the Indonesian archipelago. Since November 2002, day-to-day management of the fishery within 12nm is through the Department of Transport and Regional Services.

Fishing for tuna and tuna-like species in waters outside 12nm of the Christmas Island and Cocos (Keeling) Islands fisheries is to be managed under the Western Tuna and Billfish Fishery Management Plan 2005.
