Southern and Eastern Scalefish and Shark Fishery

Management of the fishery and its sectors

Management Plan 2003

Four major Commonwealth fisheries have come under the 'umbrella' of a new statutory management plan developed by AFMA in consultation with stakeholders.

The Southern and Eastern Scalefish and Shark Fishery brings together the South East Trawl, Great Australian Bight Trawl and Gillnet Hook and Trap (formerly the Southern Shark and South East Non-trawl) fisheries under a common set of management objectives.
