Southern and Eastern Scalefish and Shark Fishery

Deepwater Resource Assessment Group (DeepRAG)

DeepRAG will be responsible for the monitoring, assessment, and reporting for deepwater species including orange roughy, oreo dory, alfonsino, ribaldo, and other deepwater species. For the purposes of DeepRAG the deepwater area of the Southern and Eastern Scalefish and Shark Fishery (SESSF) is the area from around the mid-continental slope and deeper (+600m).

DeepRAG consists of a Chair, an AFMA representative, six industry representatives covering each sector of the fishery, a BRS representative and two other scientific members. DeepRAG meets three times a year.
