Southern Bluefin Tuna TACs determined for the 2011/12 and 2012/13 fishing seasons
At its meeting on 26 October 2011 the AFMA Commission determined the total allowable catch (TAC) for the Southern Bluefin Tuna Fishery for the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons as follows:
- 1 December 2011 to 30 November 2012 – 4,528 tonnes
- 1 December 2012 to 30 November 2013 – 4,698 tonnes
These TACs have been set in line with the Commission for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna (CCSBT)’s national allocation for Australia for 2012 and 2013.
Based on these TACs, AFMA has calculated the live weight values of SBT based on the number of kilograms per statutory fishing right (SFR) for each season. The live weight values are:
- 1 December 2011 to 30 November 2012 – 0.8504209 kilograms
- 1 December 2012 to 30 November 2013 – 0.8823492 kilograms
