EOI submitted are circulated to AFMA fisheries managers/ RAGs & MACs for comment;
Fisheries Managers, RAGs/MACs identify any additional research priorities for potential FRDC funding.
Research providers submit applications by 15 February to FRDC for funding in response to FRDC’s call in Nov/ Dec
MarchARC meets to assess EOI and Management/RAG/MAC comments.

Applicants notified of ARC comments on their initial proposals and asked to submit their full proposals by end March.
ComRAC meets to assess applications and review further identified priorities for FRDC’s call.
AprilARC out-of-session reviews and endorses final applications and the upcoming financial year’s research budget.

Applicants advised of the ARC’s final evaluation.

JulyAFMA CEO approves the AFMA research budget for the new financial year.

New contracts and variations for essential research projects prepared and put in place.

RAGs/MACs commence review of their fisheries’ 5 Year Research Plan to IDENTIFY THEIR RESEARCH NEEDS for AFMA/FRDC funding in the following financial year by completing an Annual Research Plan.
ComRAC meets to assess applications and review further identified priorities for FRDC’s call.
