Please note: The Geelong Star is no longer under Australian jurisdiction. AFMA will cease reporting on the voluntary offer while the boat is outside Australian waters.

Enquiries about the future fishing operations of the Geelong Star should be directed to the operator.

In May 2016, a voluntary offer to recreational fishers was made by Seafish Tasmania regarding the operations of the Geelong Star in the 2016-17 Small Pelagic Fishery fishing year commencing 1 May 2016 and ending 30 April 2017.

View the voluntary offer made by Seafish Tasmania.

Please note: the voluntary offer is not regulated by AFMA and is outside AFMA’s usual reporting framework for commercial fishers. Public reporting by AFMA has been voluntarily agreed to by Seafish Tasmania.

Any enquiries regarding the voluntary offer or the performance of the Geelong Star against them should be directed to the Small Pelagic Fishery Industry Association at questions@spfia.com.au.

Information regarding the formal fishing rules and regulations of the Small Pelagic Fishery can be found at afma.gov.au or view the SPF FAQ’s.
