The Australian Fisheries Management Authority (AFMA) has set levy rates for 2017-18.
The total levy for 2017-18 will be divided into three instalments. The first of the three invoices will be sent out on 9 January 2018, with payment due on 6 February 2018. Invoices two and three will follow in March and May 2018 respectively.
Three fisheries and one sector of the Southern and Eastern Scalefish and Shark Fishery (SESSF) have had a decrease in levies, while the other 11 fisheries and two sectors of the SESSF have seen an increase in levy for 2017-18.
AFMA remains committed to providing efficient and cost effective fisheries management and continues to work closely with the Commonwealth Fisheries Association (CFA) to identify opportunities for future efficiencies.
Further details on how your fishery is affected, including individual concession rates, is contained in the AFMA Levy Arrangements Guide 2017-18, available on the Levy Arrangements page of the AFMA website.
