5 December 2018

The Australian Fisheries Management Authority (AFMA) has set levy rates for 2018-19.

The total levy for 2018-19 will be divided into three instalments.  The first of the three invoices will be sent out on 8 January 2019, with payment due on 5 February 2019.  Invoices two and three will follow in March and May 2019 respectively.

Nine fisheries and two sectors of the Southern and Eastern Scalefish and Shark Fishery (SESSF) have had a decrease in levies, while the other five fisheries and one sector of the SESSF have seen an increase in levy for 2018-19.

AFMA remains committed to providing efficient and cost effective fisheries management and continues to work closely with the Commonwealth Fisheries Association (CFA) to identify opportunities for future efficiencies.

Further details on how your fishery is affected, including individual concession rates, is contained in the AFMA Levy Arrangements Guide 2018-19, available on the Levy Arrangements page of the AFMA website.
