The Australian Fisheries Management Authority (AFMA) reminds fishers that all electronic logbook (e-log) data must be recorded on a shot-by-shot basis, and details for the last day of the trip must be completed and submitted prior to your boat docking in port.

E-logs are used for daily catch reporting, and are a continuous record of fishing operations undertaken in Commonwealth Fisheries. The information collected is important and used for determining the status of fish stocks and making management decisions, including the setting of total allowable catches.

Fishers in the Eastern Tuna and Billfish Fishery, Western Tuna and Billfish Fishery and the Northern Prawn Fishery are reminded that from 1 January 2019 e-logs will be required on all full time boats.

Further information on how to complete your e-log, and how to register to use e-logs, is available at afma.gov.au.
