18 June 2015

With all Small Pelagic Fishery Resource Assessment Group (SPFRAG) members completing their term on 30 June 2015, AFMA is taking the opportunity to review how the independent AFMA Commission receives scientific advice regarding the Small Pelagic Fishery (SPF) and how stakeholders are engaged in that process.

Given the high level of stakeholder interest in the science of the SPF, AFMA is considering what options are available to ensure that stakeholders’ views about SPF science are captured. The AFMA Commission has been considering possible options and will make its decisions known in the new financial year.

AFMA extends its thanks to current RAG members for their time and contribution to provide advice on the science of the SPF.
